‘Get Involved'- Secondary School Rugby Needs You!
Volunteers play a crucial role in all sports and rugby is no different. Our volunteers are vital in running a successful rugby program. With the dynamics of modern life it is becoming more and more important to promote physical activity to our teenagers and increase player numbers. With the steady increase in rugby numbers it is putting increasing pressure on the schools support network to facilitate these programmes.
For 2010 all Secondary Schools within the Counties Manukau Region are looking for interested parents, caregivers, local community members who are enthusiastic, motivated and wanting to contribute either as a rugby coach, manager or just a helper on Saturdays.
Rugby can provide players the opportunity to learn about self discipline, team work, commitment, work ethic and many other positive values that pass over into the classroom. Being involved can also be very rewarding watching players grow throughout the season and creating a strong bond with the team.
So if you feel that you can help and make a difference by ‘Getting Involved' then contact the Youth Development Officer at the Counties Manukau Rugby Union or your local Secondary School for more information.
