Counties Manukau Rugby has announced that ACSL Group Ltd has extended its partnership with the Union for another three years, following a highly successful first season together.
The nationwide HVAC-R, Electrical and Plumbing company featured prominently on the front of the Steelers jersey during their Bunnings Warehouse NPC campaign. The team’s efforts culminated in making the playoffs for the first time since 2016. ACSL Group Ltd's support extends beyond the Steelers, playing a vital role in fostering women’s rugby, age group teams, and community rugby.
“We are proud to partner with the Union and fully support what they stand for with Pride In The Hoops,” said ACSL Group Ltd Managing Director Phil Mohan. “We are committed to the Union and its community, and we are passionate about seeing the sport thrive at every level. It's a privilege to make a difference as a company that grew from humble beginnings to a nationwide company."
Counties Manukau Rugby Head of Commercial, Andrew Philips, expressed his delight about the renewed partnership. “Phil and his team are the perfect partners for us – we share the same passion for rugby and for our community,” he said.
“We have adopted a philosophy of picking local players. Therefore, it is very fitting, and we are incredibly proud to partner with a national organisation that started locally and is still based in our region.
“We are incredibly grateful to ACSL Group Ltd and look forward to continuing our partnership for the next three years, building on the successes we’ve already achieved together.”
Counties Manukau Rugby chief executive Chad Shepherd echoed Philips’ comments.
“Representing our community is fundamental in terms of our purpose to grow, empower and inspire our people through rugby, and it really is aligned to Phil and ACSL Group Ltd in that they are an aspirational business that has started locally and grown to a national business.
“We look forward to continuing to grow together over the next three years, including celebrating our 70th anniversary as a Union in 2025.”
