We send our condolences to the whanau of our Centurion, Maori All Black, Coach, Player, Manurewa Rugby Club man and all round gentlemen of the game Henry Maxwell.
Andrew Talaimanu, one of Counties Manukau Rugby's previous players and coach has allowed us to share his thoughts at this time:
Rewa! Rewa! Rewa Are We! And Rewa We Always Will Be! RIP Henry
To Henry Maxwell my team mate, my Captain, my co- coach, my lead singer, my great mate and my brother rest peacefully and with much pride in the imprint you have made on so many of us. And the eternal legacy you have given this world through your beautiful whanau and your love of life and of your Maoritanga. But most of all in your dignity, your fairness and your leadership that made it so easy for us to follow and will inspire us all to live up to....and for generations to come. Your body has passed and soon along with your spirit we will farewell you for your final journey. It has been and will continue to be, an honour to have called you my mate. To Christine and your whanau much alofas and deepest sympathies on this sad morning. I love Henry like brother and whilst this morning I cannot sleep because my heart is so heavy - I think he is still having the last say because so many great memories are prominent in my mind. See you later you piece....
Your brother Tali
