Counties Manukau Rugby has made the unfortunate decision to cancel their U16s rep program for the 2021 season due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

They had been set to take part in a Chiefs U16 tournament on the October 9-10 at Cambridge.

“It was a tough decision, but we did not want to cause potential delays to the tournament and also the other Chiefs Provincial Unions that are going to take part,” Counties Manukau Rugby Operations Manager Dale Tucker said.

“The Tournament will only go ahead if they are in Alert Level 1.”

A development day was held at Navigation Homes Stadium and Pukekohe High School fields back in July with 100 athletes involved.

Counties Manukau Rugby would like to acknowledge the players that had made the wider squads.
