Government rules relaxed to make club rugby closer to normal

New Zealand Rugby has today confirmed that club rugby is to return to something close to normal this season in what will be a massive boost to the grassroots of the sport.

Wednesday’s government’s announcement around updates to the Covid Protection Framework has seen confirmation of a relaxing of the protocols that have been part of community sport over the past couple of years.

Vaccine passes will no longer be needed so club rugby – playing and spectating – will be open to all people. There will be no need to sign in anymore and no spectating limits.

Face masks are still required at most indoor venues however.

The club season is set to being in Counties Manukau with competition games on April 23.
