Lavea names Bayleys Cavaliers squad

Ardmore Marist and Manurewa each boast eight representatives in the Counties Manukau Bayleys Cavaliers squad for the Chiefs Country Centurion Cup in Hamilton this weekend.

PIC Steelers coach Tai Lavea has named a 32-man squad to face Bay of Plenty in the first match of two against their Chiefs provincial rivals with players from eight different clubs confirmed.

Waikato and Taranaki will play in the other first round game with the two winners to face each other in the second fixture and the two losers to battle in the other.

Former PIC Steelers players Matt Talaese, Mark Royal, Liam Daniela and Riley Hohepa have been included after not featuring in last year’s Mitre 10 Cup.

Experienced regulars Matiaha Martin, Viliame Rarasea, Sam Slade and Luteru Laulala have all be named as have the impressive Alamanda Motuga, Viliami Taulani, Ezekiel Lindenmuth and Jarrod Halliday, who had strong 2020 seasons.
