Cracker Weekend of Club Rugby Ahead

Cracker Weekend of Club Rugby Ahead
Bombay and Manurewa face what is effectively a quarter-final shoot-out on Saturday in a game that could well determine who the fourth semi-finalist in the McNamara Cup is.
With games remaining against the top three sides, Bombay face the prospect of it being nearly a do-or-die contest. In their favour is the fact they currently hold fourth place and that Manurewa has played an extra game. The forward battle between two exceptional packs should be a cracker.

Top spot is on the line at Patumahoe Domain with the home side hosting unbeaten Karaka in what could be a classic encounter. Patumahoe have lost just once this season – a narrow defeat at the hands of Karaka in the corresponding game in the opening round. Karaka have been perfect to this point. The winner is all but certain to host a home semi-final.

Papakura need a five-point win against Ardmore Marist to keep their slim semi-final aspirations alive when they play off at Massey Park. Pukekohe has the bye.

Some big contests in the Sid Marshall Shield await this weekend with the Te Kauwhata v Maramarua Gumboot game one to watch.
Defending champions Drury head to Laurie Gibbons Field to play Weymouth while top-of-the-table Waiuku hosts an in-form Onewhero outfit.
Tuakau will chase their first win of the season when they head to Puni while Manurewa will look to right the ship when they host Te Kohanga.
Neighbours tackle each other in Massey Cup U21 action as Ardmore Marist and Manurewa square off at Bruce Pulman Park while at Patumahoe Domain, the home side hosts Karaka.
Manurewa hosts TKO (Tuakau, Te Kohanga and Onewhero) at Mountfort Park in Bright Cup U19 play while in the other game Waiuku and Pukekohe meet at Rugby Park.
Pukekohe travels to Waiuku in U85kg action as well while in other fixtures Beachlands Maraetai hosts Drury and Onewhero travels to Karaka.
Manurewa travels to Silverdale in Women’s Premier play while in the Women’s Premier Development grade, Patumahoe hosts Glenfield in a must win game.
Elsewhere, Karaka and Pukekohe meet in a top-of-the-table clash at Karaka Sports Complex while Papakura travels to Orakei to play Grammar TEC.
