Counties Manukau PIC Steelers first-five Riley Hohepa has been named to make his Super Rugby Pacific debut for the Hurricanes on Saturday.

Hohepa, who was brought into the Hurricanes squad over the summer months, is the third PIC Steelers player to be named to make a Super Rugby debut in as many weeks, following in the footsteps of Ioane Moananu (Crusaders) and Peniasi Malimali (Chiefs).

The Patumahoe representative established himself as the first choice first-five for the PIC Steelers in 2022 and captained the side in the second half of the campaign.

He has been named on the Hurricanes bench to face Moana Pasifika at 7.05pm on Saturday at Mt Smart Stadium.
