Nanai-Seturo named NPC Player of the Year

Fullback Etene Nanai’s-Seturo has won the NPC Player of the Year at the ASB Rugby Awards on Thursday night.

The Chiefs and Karaka representative was a threat every time he touched the ball as his PIC Steelers side ran close to making the quarter-finals.

He was the only one of four local finalists to win an award.

Halfback Arihiana Marino-Tauhinu was a finalist for the Tom French Cup Maori Player of the Year, won by departing All Black Aaron Smith.

Beachlands Maraetai, arguably the most successful junior club in the country were pipped for Club of the Year by Auckland University while Pukekohe’s John Hume was shortlisted for Volunteer of the Year.
