The PIC Steelers will host Hawke’s Bay, Bay of Plenty, Southland, Canterbury and Manawatu at Navigation Homes Stadium in the 2023 Bunnings Warehouse National Provincial Championship.

The draw for the 2023 competition has been confirmed today with the PIC Steelers opening their campaign on the road in New Plymouth against Taranaki on Friday August 4.

They then have back-to-back games at home at Navigation Homes Stadium against Hawke’s Bay and Bay of Plenty respectively before successive road games in Hamilton and Wellington.

There will be two home games in the space of five days and three games in eight days when Reon Graham’s side host Southland on Saturday September 9 and then Canterbury on Wednesday September 13 before heading to Blenheim to face Tasman on Sunday September 17.

They return for one final home match against Manawatu on Saturday September 23 and finish their round robin campaign in Dunedin against Otago on Sunday October 1.

“Like any draw, there are challenging parts but that is what this competition is all about,” said Graham.

“I love the fact we get some primetime Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon games so that our fans can get out and watch us at Navigation Homes Stadium.

“It was amazing to feel the support in the stands and on the bank last year and we hope to build on that with some strong performances that our fans can be proud of.

“I’m looking forward to the first up challenge in New Plymouth against Taranaki.”
