WE ARE ON THE HUNT FOR A COMMERCIAL SUPERSTAR TO JOIN OUR HARD-WORKING TEAM HERE AT THE COUNTIES MANUKAU RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION.

Due to an internal promotion, a rare vacancy has arisen in our senior management team.

So, if you’re a sponsorship whiz, know how to make deals and have a keen desire to look after the incredible partners who help fund rugby in this proud region, we want to talk to you. But you’ll also need to be passionate about our national game, know a thing or two about marketing and be unafraid to literally get your hands dirty from time to time because we are a small team and expect everyone to dig in when times get busy during the rugby season.

The Counties Manukau Rugby Football Union was formed in 1955 and encompasses a large catchment area which includes Manurewa Rugby Club in the north and extends down to the Te Kauwhata Rugby Club in the south.  The region also spans from Waiuku Rugby Club in the west to Beachlands Maraetai Rugby Club in the east.

We are also the guardian of our national provincial teams (the PIC Steelers and the Counties Energy Heat) while overseeing community rugby within our region.  Counties has a storied history that includes legends such as Jonah Lomu, Joeli Vidiri, Bruce Robertson, Andy Dalton and Kieran Read.

Our purpose is to grow, empower and inspire our people through rugby and we are on a mission to be the pride of our community. But without finding and keeping our Commercial partners, we wouldn’t survive for long.

As our Head of Commercial, your priorities would include:

  1. Working closely with our partners to ensure they are getting value from their association with the CMRFU and continue to support the game in our region
  2. Generate income from team, signage and corporate properties to ensure you meet our annual budgeting targets
  3. Lead the Commercial team and help develop and drive our marketing and communications strategies
  4. Assist our Head of Operations to bring more events to Navigation Homes Stadium

To be considered for this role, you must be a go-getter with a hunger to work hard and look after the people and companies who look after us.  This must be backed up by strong personal qualities and a management style that connects, grows and inspires our people. You must have a strong commercial nous, a marketing background and the ability to establish strong relationships.

Please note that it is a requirement that you be double vaccinated against COVID-19.
