Counties Manukau U19s squad named

A total of 14 players from the champion Karaka U21 Massey Cup winning side have been named in the Counties Manukau U19 squad for 2022.

Eight players from Pukekohe and another six from runners-up Patumahoe have also been included while players from Manurewa and Onewhero complete the 2022 squad.

The team will be coached by Counties Manukau Rugby’s Head of High-Performance Chad Shepherd and assistants Siua Pole and Asaeli Tikoirotuma.

The squad played a warm-up game against Northland U19 at Wellsford last weekend and came away with a 41-10 victory.

The team will compete for the Dave Rennie Shield this season, which is awarded to the overall winner of the Chiefs region round robin. The campaign culminates in Counties Manukau hosting the Northern Region Chiefs/Blues crossover games on September 3 at Karaka.
