Malimali in-line for Super Rugby debut

PIC Steelers winger Benji Malimali is in-line to make his Super Rugby Pacific debut after being named on the bench for the Chiefs in their game against the Rebels on Saturday.

The try-scoring winger joins fellow PIC Steelers player Etene Nanai-Seturo in the game day squad for Saturday’s clash in Hamilton.

He was a stand-out for Reon Graham’s side during the NPC last year before earning a maiden Super Rugby contract with the Chiefs.

It follows hooker Ioane Moananu making his Super Rugby debut last week for the Crusaders.

PIC Steelers teammates Sam Tuifua and Jadin Kingi have been named in the Chiefs Development side that will take on the Blues Development side in Auckland on Saturday.

Keran van Staden, Cohen Brady-Leathem, Josh Penney and Esau Filimoehala are all in the Chiefs U20’s team that will contest the National U20’s Tournament this coming week in Taupo, with CMRFU's Peter Shaw as the team's Trainer.

Mak Kailahi and Taeao Pomale-Time have been picked in the NZ Barbarians U20’s Team that will also play at that tournament.

CMRFU Referees boss Brandon Roberts will officiate at the tournament.
